Working closely with other members of the maintenance team in Winnipeg, the Transport Trailer Technician plays a key role in ensuring our fleet remains in excellent working condition. This will involve ongoing maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of company trailers and equipment. This role requires a collaborative problem solver, someone who takes pride in their workmanship, and leads by example.
Please note that the hours for this position will be 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, Saturdays to Tuesdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect trailer mechanisms, ensuring that the trailer is safe and reliable for operation
- Complete basic exterior trailer body repairs
- Perform metal working, cutting, and welding on landing gear, cross member replacements, slider and suspension, and rear end protection repairs
- Complete air brake and suspension repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical system deficiencies
- Follow and promote Safety Guidelines, SOPs, and best practices
- Provide accurate and clear work orders
Qualifications & Competencies:
- An energetic and positive personality
- A strong commitment to safety and continuous learning
- A high attention to detail and a collaborative approach to problem solving
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and other transport trailer systems and related components
- 2 years of relevant experience is preferred
- CVI License is considered an asset
