Transport Trailer Technician (Weekend Shift)

Working closely with other members of the maintenance team in Winnipeg, the Transport Trailer Technician plays a key role in ensuring our fleet remains in excellent working condition. This will involve ongoing maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of company trailers and equipment. This role requires a collaborative problem solver, someone who takes pride in their workmanship, and leads by example.

Please note that the hours for this position will be 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, Saturdays to Tuesdays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect trailer mechanisms, ensuring that the trailer is safe and reliable for operation
  • Complete basic exterior trailer body repairs
  • Perform metal working, cutting, and welding on landing gear, cross member replacements, slider and suspension, and rear end protection repairs
  • Complete air brake and suspension repairs
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical system deficiencies
  • Follow and promote Safety Guidelines, SOPs, and best practices
  • Provide accurate and clear work orders

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • An energetic and positive personality
  • A strong commitment to safety and continuous learning
  • A high attention to detail and a collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and other transport trailer systems and related components
  • 2 years of relevant experience is preferred
  • CVI License is considered an asset
