The Payroll Associate plays a critical role within our Payroll team by ensuring that employees are accurately compensated. Furthermore, this role acts as a point of contact for staff regarding payroll-related inquiries.

The Payroll Associate is a trusted member of our Payroll team and reports directly to our Payroll Manager. This is a growth opportunity for an individual who is interested in building upon their skills in Payroll and wanting to work within a team of functional experts.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff.
  • Confirm that hourly staff timecard entries and premiums are correctly applied.
  • Confirm that expenses are accurate and reimbursed in a timely manner.
  • Process employee profile changes including entering new hires, editing employee records, and archiving terminated employees.
  • Ensure vacation accruals are accurately calculated.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Human Resource teams to maintain accurate employee data.
  • Assist other members of the Payroll team with processing monthly payroll for company drivers and owner operators.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a strong customer service focus.
  • Knowledge of ADP payroll software and familiar with Great Plains accounting software.
  • 2 years' experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) Designation is considered an asset.
